FULL DAY KRUGER NATIONAL PARK TOUR

Embark on a full-day safari tour of Kruger National Park, one of the continent's largest game reserves. Get an early start from Kilima Private Game Reserve and Spa on your wildlife-viewing adventure in order to catch the animals at one of their most active times. Travel alongside a knowledgeable guide in an open-top vehicle, seeking out Africa's big five as well as giraffe, zebra, hyenas and more. Your guide offers details on local fauna and flora—including a wealth of local birdlife—en-route. Stop for lunch at one of the many picnic sites. The chefs at Kilima will prepare a gorgeous picnic style lunch.

CULTURAL TOUR

Village and township tours are offered to provide opportunities for our guests to interact with local people in an unstructured and spontaneous manner and to have experiences which are rewarding, authentic and entertaining in secure and friendly environment. It offers guests an opportunity to reflect on the hospitality of the local people and be able to form their own opinion about township life. These tours are led by a professional guide, James Ndhlovu who was born and raised in the Palace of Chief Mohlaba II and has an intimate knowledge of local customs and traditions.

 

Experience rural life in Chief Mohlaba II’s Royal Palace and his senior subjects (Indunas), how polygamous family structures operate, and more. Get to see modern township lifestyles. Encounter Sangoma’s Dance and taste the African “viagra’. Learn about local indigenous herbs, plants, trees and various mutis (medicines) that are made from them. Enjoy traditional food, drink and the warm hospitality of the local people, walk in their villages and townships, visit their homes, and share experiences of their daily activities. The ‘Buzz’ of the shebeens (township tavern) offers a chance to meet people from all walks of life and professions. The vibe is friendly and welcoming.

Lunch is for own account at the Amarula lapa, A visit to the Amarula Lapa shows the magic of turning Marula fruit into Amarula Cream. Enjoy a glass of Amarula Cream on crushed ice, whilst listening to the stories and folklore surrounding the Marula tree. In February and March, during the harvesting season, a visit to the production plant is included. Light meals and Amarula cocktails are available from the restaurant.

MHANGELA TEA GARDEN AND ANIMAL TOUCH FARM

Mhangela Tea Garden, Curio shop and Animal Farm started as a play area for children. Today Mhangela (the Tsonga word meaning Guinea Fowl) boasts awards for its family friendly atmosphere and excellent food. Mhangela is the ideal outing for parents that wish to let their children enjoy the feeling of being on a farm Light meals and Amarula cocktails are available from the restaurant.

PANORAMA ROUTE GUIDED TOUR (Sabi, Graskop & Pilgrims Rest)

Cross all the highlights of the Panorama Route off your must-see list with this comprehensive tour from Kilima Private Game Reserve and Spa. Stops include Lisbon Falls, Berlin Falls, Bourke's Luck Potholes, the Three Rondawels, Wonder view, God's Window, and River Canyon. As you travel, learn about the environment’s history, plants and animals of the region through in-depth guided commentary.

 

Graskop Gorge Lift

The viewing lift takes visitors 51 metres down the face of the gorge into the forest below, where wooden walkways & suspension bridges meander along a 600-metre trail through the indigenous forest with interactive exhibits. Lunch for own account at the gorge lift café. On warm sunny days, sit back and relax on the balcony and take in the panorama views. From the waterfall, big swing and zip line on the left to past the lift and across the gorge and to the magnificent valley in the distance on the right.

Africa’s longest Toboggan

Enjoy the ultimate ride of your life and ‘excite your soul’ on Misty Mountain’s Long Tom Toboggan. Feel the wind in your hair and the thrill in your belly when you wind and whoosh around Mpumalanga’s Long Tom Pass mountains on the Long Tom Toboggan, the longest toboggan run in Africa with an impressive 1.7km track.

Simply hop on board your Long Tom Toboggan cart and prepare to take a deep breath when you reach a speed of 45 kilometres an hour during your three-minute ride, as you twist and turn through wild flowers and beautiful forest of the Long Tom Pass.
